One of the unique areas of the Nissan Datsun 240Z sports car was the different colors that the car was available in. The Datsun 240Z came in a variety of different colors throughout production. As part of identifying the color of a 240Z, Nissan had a color code system that they used. On each 240Z, a sticker that is placed on the vehicle which identifies the color code of the car.

Color Code Decal

A decal of the paint code for the Nissan Datsun 240Z can be found on top of the radiator support. The 240Z also came with different interior colors for each exterior color. Below is a list of all available exterior and interior colors with their corresponding paint code for every year model.

There were approximately 18 colors for the Datsun 240Z while it was in production. The 1972 and 1973 models both had the same colors for the exterior and the interior. The 1970 and 1971 models had 8 different color schemes. Our research has indicated that the colors for all of the years may be the same. Nissan just changed the names of the colors when the 72 model year was introduced.
